X Factor 2013 runner up Nicholas McDonald has apparently signed a record deal with RCA.
The Scottish singer finished second to Sam Bailey in last year's final and has also scooped himself a record deal, The Sun newspaper reports.
A friend told the newspaper: “He is over the moon right now.
“It’s every X Factor contestant’s dream to get a deal like this, particularly someone as young as Nicholas. He’s absolutely thrilled.”
Nicky himself hasn't confirmed the signing but did hint at it on Twitter this week by tweeting: “BIG NEWS COMING UP …..I love you all”
It was previously reported that Rough Copy and Tamera Foster would also get deals, although Luke Friend - who finished in third place - would miss out.
“No final decisions have yet been taken on who aside from Sam Bailey will get deals," a source said. “But Cowell and Sony have their eyes on Rough Copy and Nicholas who are likely to get snapped up next month.”
The insider added to The Sun newspaper earlier this month: “Despite growing through the show, it is looking unlikely Luke will get a deal within Sony, although he is sure to have interest from other companies.
The top eight finalists from last year’s live final line up – Abi Alton, Hannah Barrett, Luke Friend, Nicholas McDonald, Rough Copy, Sam Bailey, Sam Callahan and Tamera Foster – will all be on the bill for this year’s tour, which starts in February.
