Cheryl Cole is reportedly after more cash in order to secure her X Factor UK return.
It follows claims earlier this month that Cheryl had agreed a £2 million deal to come back to the ITV series.
According to magazine however, bosses may need to offer the ex Girls Aloud star more than that if they want to see her in the audition rooms come the summer.
A source said: "It is a big deal that Cheryl is considering taking her old job back and she's made it clear to Simon that it would have to be on her terms. "
They explained: "She's requested the biggest dressing room at the fountain studios. It used to be Simon's personal quarters but since he's been in the US, celebrity performers have used it.
"Cheryl's also insisted her pay would have to be much ore than she used to get, and she doesn't want to be tied to a heavy schedule - she doesn't want the show to take over her life, like it did in the past."
It had been reported that Nicole Scherzinger had been offered £3 million to return to the panel for a third series, but the latest speculation claims that it's Cheryl that Simon is keen to get back.
“All this talk of Nicole’s deal is premature. The only judge in talks is Cheryl," a source told the Daily Star newspaper. “Talks have been going on for weeks and Simon has been doing everything to persuade her. Finally she has agreed. Simon believed Cheryl’s return was the key to his new ideas for the show.
“Nicole’s not been completely ruled out – but not for the £3m some have suggested. Only Simon earns that.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor previously said that no contracts had been signed for the new series, which will air on ITV in the summer.
