X Factor bosses have reportedly offered Nicole Scherzinger a £3 million deal to make sure she returns to the show this year.
There has already been plenty of speculation over next year’s judging line up, with Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne having previously confirmed their exits.
Reports last week suggested that Nicole could also be out, even though X Factor boss Simon Cowell and ITV were keen to keep the Pussycat Doll singer.
Now the Daily Mirror claim that there's a £3 million offer on the table for Nicole if she does come back for a third series.
“Simon absolutely loves Nicole. She is his perfect judge, a source said today. “She is so highly thought of by him that it is quite unbelievable.
“She is thought of as one of the family. Simon loves her both on screen and off and feels she has been extremely popular with the viewers."
They explained: “Money is no object to Simon on this one. He is ready to throw whatever he has to at her.
“He knows that he almost didn’t get her last year because of various different reasons but he won’t be making that mistake again.
“He will break the bank to keep her for a third series. He knows that if he can then he has a very good X Factor series later this year."
However Nicole's new album could force her to turn down even this huge deal.
The Sun reported last week that the Boomerang hitmaker was "torn" between focusing on the show and her own career.
The source added to the tabloid: “She’s torn between the two — she loves the show and loves working on it but is conflicted.
“She is taking time out at home with her family to decide what move is best to make.”
Speaking to the Sunday People today, another source added: “She is flattered by how much loyalty and affection the team show her and she had the time of her life.
"The problem for her is whether or not she will genuinely be able to spare the time for the auditions. She is happy to work with Simon to find a solution to this.”
According to the rumours, bosses are keen for Nicole to remain on the show alongside Louis Walsh, with Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell both returning to fill the empty seats.
A spokesperson commented: “There have been no decisions made so far on the judging panel for 2014 X Factor as yet.”
