Caroline Flack is said to want Olly Murs back on the Xtra Factor this year.
Former X Factor finalist Olly quit the ITV2 spin-off last summer to focus on his music career, with bosses bringing in comic Matt Richardson to replace him.
But according to the Daily Star newspaper, Caroline has "pleaded" with producers to try and get Olly back.
The tabloid claims that Caroline fears her and Matt “don’t have the same chemistry” as she did with former Xtra Factor sidekick Olly.
An insider said: “She has told producers to get Olly back. They were a dream team.”
Rumour as it that Olly could well be making a return to the show this year but as a judge rather than a presenter.
“We’d love to get Olly back as a young judge to freshen things up. He can relate to the other singers like no one else," a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper last year.
They added: “Crucially, boss Simon Cowell is on good terms with Olly so if he can fit auditions around his career we think he would be perfect. Deals won’t be done until the series ends but Olly is a front runner.”
The X Factor and Xtra Factor return in the autumn.
