Cheryl Cole is all set to make a return to The X Factor UK next year, it's been reported.
The Mail On Sunday reports that Cheryl has agreed to make a comeback to the show, although no contacts have yet been signed.
At least two new judges are needed for the ITV series, with both Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne having quit.
It's widely expected that Simon Cowell will return and Cheryl could be back alongside him.
The pair both quit in 2011 to join the US show, but Cheryl was axed after filming just two audition episodes.
An insider claimed: “The contracts for the show will be drawn up and negotiated in March, but the plan is very much to bring back Cheryl.
“Simon and Cheryl had fantastic on-screen chemistry. It makes perfect sense to put them back together on-screen.
“Everyone involved is very excited by the prospect.”
Just last week Simon was praising the former Girls Aloud hitmaker, gushing: “She was a really, really good judge. I mean, she took what she did seriously."
He told Radio LBC: “She used to phone me almost every night – one, two, three o’clock in the morning, talking about songs and what she should be doing.
“That’s the kind of judge you want to be working with on these shows, because they really care.
“I hope we’re going to get the chance to work together."
Simon added: “We have to find a way because we had a lot of fun.
Yesterday bookies made Cheryl odds-on to join the panel next year alongside Simon.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "The odds suggest the nation's sweetheart is set to return to our TV screens. Punters would love to see Cheryl back on the panel, she was an incredibly popular judge with both the male and female audience which will only see ratings rocket next year."
A spokesman for the X Factor however commented: "There have been no decisions made on the judging panel for the 2014 UK X Factor series as yet."
