XFactor 2013 results: Rough Copy hope for a 30-year career

Rough Copy have said they hope to keep performing for the next 30 years after their exit from The X Factor 2013 last night.

The boys were booted out in last night's latest live results show after a sing off with Luke Friend.

The judges couldn't decide between the two acts, sending the decision to deadlock.

Speaking after their exit, the boys said: “Just being here just being here was a highlight. We thank Gary for everything he has done for us, I thank the whole X Factor team for everything, thanks to all our friends and family for always being here the whole time."

The trio's Kaz, who missed out on the judges' houses stages due to visa issues, continued: “I am crying because this has been the longest journey ever and we did it, we made it.

"After what happened last year, this year has been crazy. Thank God we met Gary. Thank the whole team, everyone at the X Factor, the public and God has said it’s our time to go this week. Hopefully we can have a 25, 30 year old career.”

He added: “Thank you so much for believing in us, for us to be even given a chance on a platform like this, such a big commercial platform and to be loved every week and to get this far, a week before the finals. We were begging to get to judges houses last year and we made the semi final.”

Meanwhile, the group's mentor Gary Barlow said he was "gutted" for the band to have been kicked out just a week before the final.

“I am really disappointed for the boys but at this point we have seen all the acts put all the effort and heart and soul into it so I am pleased for the other three," the Take That star explained on the Xtra Factor.

He continued: “I am really gutted for the boys, they wanted to go to the final, they wanted to experience it and for them, it’s not about winning, it’s about the experience. That’s what they have always said from day one. They said ‘we want to be on this show to better ourselves’ and what a great attitude.”

With no acts left in the competition, Gary refused to back any of the remaining three, saying he would be supporting all of the finalists.

The X Factor 2013 live shows continue next Saturday and Sunday with the final live from Wembley Arena.
