X Factor 2013: Simon Cowell wants Sam Bailey to win... but Tamera Foster will get record deal too!

X Factor boss Simon Cowell is said to be backing Sam Bailey to win the show this year.

Despite being a big fan of Tamera Foster, the music mogul apparently reckons she'll do better if she doesn't triumph in next month's final.

However, the 16-year-old is said to be guaranteed a record deal whatever happens, while Simon plans to turn Sam into the 'new SuBo'.

“Simon will not oppose Sam Bailey winning the X Factor. In fact he is encouraging it. Simon has been incredibly impressed by Sam’s faultless performances every week," a source said. “Not only has she consistently stolen the show but she’s also likeable, grounded and experienced.

“She might not seem like his obvious first choice but Sam is similar to Adele, the biggest selling artist in the world at the moment."

But it seems like it's Tamera who Simon has the biggest plans for.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper this weekend, the source added: “It’s no secret Simon thinks Tamera has what it takes to become a superstar like Rihanna or Beyoncé.

“But he’s worried she could crack under the pressure of winning the show at 16 and having so much expectation on her shoulders.

“Ideally he wants her to make the final and finish runner-up to Sam. That way he has two potential stars.”

The X Factor 2013 continues tonight from 8PM with a Best of X Factor results, with performances from JLS, One Direction, Jessie J and Mary J Blige.
