X Factor's Tamera Foster has hit back at haters who've been selling stories about her.
The teenager was favourite to win the show until the weekend, where she found herself in the bottom two.
The 16-year-old has won praise from the judges since her first audition, however it's Tamera's past rather than her talent that's been the focus for the papers.
But Tamera hit back this week: "All the stories that have been brought up have come from people who don’t like me. But what can you do?’
"Someone is always going to have something bad to say, so you just have to brush it off and carry on. It’s kind of harsh but I guess everyone goes through it."
There have been claims of bullying, assaults, shoplifting and 'stealing' boyfriends, but Tamera played them all down.
"I don't think I'm any different from any other teenage girl, to be honest," she told Heat magazine. "Yeah, I have made mistakes in the past, but who hasn't?
"It was a long time ago and I've really moved on from it."
Speaking to the Metro newspaper, presumably before the weekend's live show, Tamera said she was just glad the stories came out earlier rather than later.
"I’m glad the bad press was more at the beginning. I think it would throw me off a little bit if it happened now, because it is quite a lot to deal with," she added.
The X Factor 2013 continues on ITV this Saturday and Sunday night with Big Band week, featuring performances from Robbie Williams and Celine Dion.
