The X Factor 'mash-up' advert snub angers Matt Cardle's manager

Matt Cardle's manager has revealed his disappointment that the former X Factor winner has been left out of the show's new 'ultimate mash-up' advert.

Cardle triumphed in the seventh series of the ITV talent contest, which aired in 2010 and was the most watched to date with an average of over 14million viewers.

However, despite having scored two top ten albums since his win, Cardle wasn't included in the promo for the upcoming tenth run - which was unveiled yesterday and features the likes of Leona Lewis, Little Mix, One Direction and Olly Murs.

The 30-year-old's representative Will Talbot has since slammed the decision, telling Digital Spy: "It is very disappointing to see Syco, yet again, attempting to erase Matt from the history books.

"He has been bizarrely blacklisted from appearing on The Xtra Factor, excluded from every video compilation celebrating the show and he now won't be featured in the X Factor 10th anniversary video.

"In truth, it pretty much sums up Syco's attitude to him during the months after he inconveniently (for them) won the show. Unfortunately there is a misconception that Matt has slagged off the show and fallen out with Sony but this is not true."

Matt isn't the only winner to have been omitted from the mash-up - expected to make its TV debut tonight - with series one's Steve Brookstein and series four's Leon Jackson also nowhere to be seen.

His new single 'Loving You' - a duet with former Spice Girls star Melanie C - is slated for release on 18th August, with his third album set to follow shortly afterwards.
