Returning X Factor UK judge Sharon Osbourne is costing show bosses almost a million pounds in expenses, it's been claimed.
The music manager is reportedly already getting a £1.5 million fee for the series, but her contract with producers entitles her to huge amounts of extras on top.
The Daily Star Sunday report that amongst Sharon's demands are £225,000 for travel between the UK and the US and a whopping £300,000 budget for clothes.
£112,000 has been given as 'pocket money' for day to day costs, as well as an allowance for hotels at top brands such as Claridge's, costing upwards of £300 a night.
The newspaper reports that Sharon has already requested a total of £600,000 worth of expenses, more than double the original £300,000 budget.
Pointing out the obvious, an insider told the tabloid: “Having Sharon back hasn’t exactly been cheap."
But with Sharon's return much demanded by viewers, and ratings for the ITV series having plummeted in recent years, the 60-year-old had few problems when it came to negotiating her contract earlier this year.
The insider added: “Sharon knows she’s got the upper hand. She was asking for cans of Sprite and chocolate chip cookies within minutes of arriving.”
Sharon's return isn't set to be for long however, with sources claiming last week that she had only agreed to the one series.
A supposed insider told the Daily Mail: "She felt it was appropriate for her to return for the tenth anniversary and she needed the money, but long-term The X Factor isn’t part of her plans.
"She wants to go in this year, stir things up, cause a lot of trouble and swan off in a blaze of glory."
After this week's try outs in London, the judges will go on to hold the last audition stop this year in Cardiff. This will be followed by the second stage of judges’ arena auditions in July.
The show will return to our screens on ITV in August.
