Former X Factor judge Dannii Mingoue reckons that bringing Sharon Osbourne back to the show could backfire.
Dannii and Sharon famously clashed on the series when the Aussie joined the panel a fourth judge in 2007.
It ultimately led to Sharon quitting the series, to be replaced by Cheryl Cole in 2008.
Dannii later left the show along with Cheryl and Simon Cowell in 2011, and thinks the decision to bring back Sharon isn't certain to work.
“I read they are going back to the original auditions and Sharon Osbourne is coming back,” she said this week. “That’s risky. Either people will go, ‘We have moved on’ or go ‘Amazing’. I won’t be watching, I haven’t watched any of the shows since I left.
“I think Louis will have fun with Sharon. But with any of those shows around the world, watch this space.
"The audience decide if they like the line-up."
However Dannii confessed that Simon's risks often paid off.
She told the Daily Mirror today: "Simon has always been ballsy to make those kind of decisions.
"When he moved it to the big live audience I was like, ‘Are you kidding? You think this will work?’ and he said, ‘Absolutely’ and it did. He has always said you have to keep these shows evolving otherwise they will die.”
After this week's try outs in Manchester, the judges will continue to hold the last two audition stops this year in the capital London and Cardiff. This will be followed by the second stage of judges’ arena auditions in July.
