The X Factor 2013 bosses have found themselves in a sticky situation, with just weeks to go before auditions start.
There's been no word on who will be on the panel for the seventh series, although there are plenty of rumours flying around.
Simon Cowell is reportedly keen on a line up of Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne, but negotiations aren't going too well.
According to sources who claim to be in the know, producers can't meet both Nicole and Sharon's big pay demands.
It was said last week that Nicole was wanting £1.7 million for a second series, while Sharon is expected to be also holding out for a £1.5 million fee.
"Producers don't want to be paying heaps and always try to keep the figures secret," says the insider. "Sharon wants the big money deal because she'll be giving up her job on US show The Talk, but Nicole also has concerns about the job impacting her relationship and work, and will only return if they double salary."
The source added: "They want to keep Nicole, they have to make the tight budget stretch."
Back in March it was reported that ITV were refusing to increase the show’s already huge £33 million budget, no doubt especially after last year’s lacklustre ratings.
“Producers know it will cost significantly more than last year,” an insider told The Sun at the time.
“If there’s a hold-up, it could mean someone is not given a judging role and it’s back to the drawing board.”
A spokesperson for the show commented that no official decisions had been made yet.
But they best get a move on, with auditions kicking off in the summer!
