Simon Cowell has denied reports suggesting that Noel Gallagher was being lined up to judge on The X Factor 2013.
It was claimed last week that the Oasis rocker had been offered a £2 million deal by bosses to join the panel.
Noel had previously said he was attracted to a role on the series due to the money.
“It’s about six months’ work, innit? I reckon it would have to be a million pounds after tax,” he told Radio Times. “I say that tongue-in-cheek. I don’t really want to do it. But a million pounds for six months’ work? That’s good money if you can get it. Even I don’t earn that much.”
However while Simon admitted Noel would make a good judge, he admitted it wasn't going to happen.
Speaking at the launch of BGT last week, X Factor boss Simon said: “I don’t think he’d want to do it. I spoke to him once, but he wasn’t interested. But I like Noel, he’s a cool guy.”
He added: "We literally had a conversation, because I know him quite well but that was a couple of years ago.”
Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon revealed she wasn't planning on jumping ship from Britain's Got Talent to The X Factor.
"I'm pretty happy where I am, for me it about being grateful for what you've got. Simon hasn't asked, no!"
Simon previously teased that the new X Factor judge was a "gamble" and would appeal to younger and middle aged viewers.
