Could Kimberley Walsh be the next X Factor 2013 judge? With Girls Aloud having split, she certainly has the time to spare....
The Bradford beauty was spotted chatting with X factor boss Simon Cowell at an event in London last week and putting two and two together we've concluded there's only one thing this can all mean.
Admittedly, Kimberley's no Sharon Osborne, but she's no stranger to the show either, having appeared both as a helper for Cheryl Cole and as a presenter during the live shows back in 2009.
While her singing may not be up to much – if her recent performance on Let's Dance is anything to go by – it's not stopped previous judges on the show, MENTIONING NO NAMES.
Kimberley was previously linked to both the X Factor and Xtra Factor gig, with an insider claiming some years back: "Kimberley is the girl X Factor bosses want for the job.
"She has all the right ingredients - she looks great, she's feisty, can hold her own and, most importantly, has been a success in the music industry.
"Cheryl gave producers a glowing reference telling them she would be brilliant for the show. Kimberley is the frontrunner and is in final talks. It is virtually a done-deal."
In reality though this is simply idle speculation (as we told you in the title) and it looks set that Sharon Osbourne will be the new judge, replacing to Tulisa on the panel this summer.
It was reported last week that Sharon was demanding £1.5 million to return to the show, and ITV weren't budging on their £33 million budget for the programme.
A source told the Sun newspaper: “Producers know it will cost significantly more than last year.
“If there’s a hold-up, it could mean someone is not given a judging role and it’s back to the drawing board.”
We'd much rather see Kimberley...
