Robbie Williams is wanted by X Factor 2013 bosses to join Gary Barlow on the panel this year.
The Sun reports that producers want both Take That stars on the panel, despite many expecting Gary to quit the show.
However the newspaper claims that despite it being the plan, it's unlikely to happen, with busy Robbie preparing to release a new album later this year.
“This is the dream team. We have been looking at the show and thinking the unthinkable," a source told the tabloid today. “Robbie is exactly the right person for the show — but we don’t want to lose Gary to get him. We want them both.
“Robbie’s people are saying he is too busy to do the show."
However, the insider added: “But we worked around Gary when he first joined the panel and he was touring with Take That and it was fine. We know Robbie loves the show and he and Gary have a great friendship and rivalry — there will be fireworks for sure.”
The rest of the planned line up would include old favourite Louis Walsh along with Nicole Scherzinger, leaving Tulisa booted off the show.
A source explained: "Louis’s future is as up in the air as it has been in any other year — but if Robbie and Gary do sign it will not necessarily mean curtains for him.
“The producers are relaxed about the gender make up of the panel. It is all about having big personalities.”
The X Factor 2013 will air on ITV in the summer, with open auditions starting next month.
