X Factor's Ella Henderson has been signed by Simon Cowell Syco label, and he is hoping to turn her into the next Adele.
The music mogul wants to turn the teenager, who turned 17 this month, into a huge star by 2014.
According to the Sunday People newspaper, Simon also hopes to get Ella in the US within the next 18 months.
The pair met last week to sign the deal, after Ella had originally signed to Sony Music last year despite her relatively early exit on the show.
“He was always a big fan of Ella’s and watched her from the US, he thought she would win and he’d automatically get her," a source told the newspaper today. “He wouldn’t usually sign someone who came sixth, usually he would have forgotten about contestants kicked off so early but he was overwhelmed by Ella’s talent. He admires her maturity.”
The source added: “Simon found Ella really engaging and professional. He enjoyed meeting her and as a result of them chatting so much about her career, he didn’t get to Cardiff until quite late.”
Speaking previously about being signed, Ella said: “I’m so excited to go into the studio and do what I’ve always wanted to do.
“I’ve written stuff already but I can’t wait to write new stuff. I’ve not written all the way through the period I was on The X Factor and it unlocked so many emotions I’ve never experienced before, it’s going to be very exciting.
Right now however Ella is set to kick off the X Factor 2013 live tour next weekend along with six of the show's other finalists.
