XFactor: James Arthur and Matt Cardle stop the bickering (sort of)

James Arthur (X Factor 2012)

X Factor winners Matt Cardle and James Arthur have eventually grown up and stopped their bickering.

James pissed off Matt last month by branding all other male winners a bit rubbish, to sum it up.

He said: “The blokes that have won before have had a niche, they haven’t sold records because they haven’t made great albums. That’s the bottom line.”

Matt didn’t like this and hit back: “I said, ‘Look, James, you’re very talented but you haven’t sold two million records yet, which I have.’

“You haven’t had two top ten albums yet, which I’ve had. Don’t start mouthing off before you’ve even really left the show.”

Matt went on: “I doubt he’s even listened to my albums. It’s a shame and I hope it doesn’t do him too much damage.

“Not only has he offended me but he’s offended every other person that’s won the X Factor and everyone who works or has written on these albums.

“That’s some of the best songwriters in the world – all these people – and he’s now rubbished their work. So it’s a pretty s*** thing for him to have said.”

Then James 'took to Twitter' to be a bit of an arse about the whole thing.

He tweeted: “2 million returned and now live in the bargain bin at asda give it up the tunes are brutal.. the desperation for press is embarrassing.”

James added: “Get bummed.. Some more.”

But Matt has now called a truce, sort of.

He said on Loose Women: "Look, he said something offensive to me.

"[He said] that [previous X Factor winners] had written bad albums and that's fair enough, he's entitled to an opinion but we're talking about some brilliant song writers that I wrote the songs with."

He added: "I gave him some friendly advice to try and keep your mouth shut a little bit."

(We did say sort of)
