X Factor winners Matt Cardle and James Arthur has called a truce on their bickering.
The pair have been rowing online and in the press for some weeks now, ever since James said past male winners of the show were all a bit rubbish (basically).
Matt didn’t like this (fair enough) and hit back, albeit in a conversation we’re doubting ever took place, He told the Daily Mirror “I said, ‘Look, James, you’re very talented but you haven’t sold two million records yet, which I have.’
“You haven’t had two top ten albums yet, which I’ve had. Don’t start mouthing off before you’ve even really left the show.”
Matt went on: “I doubt he’s even listened to my albums. It’s a shame and I hope it doesn’t do him too much damage.
“Not only has he offended me but he’s offended every other person that’s won the X Factor and everyone who works or has written on these albums.
“That’s some of the best songwriters in the world – all these people – and he’s now rubbished their work. So it’s a pretty s*** thing for him to have said.”
Last weekend, the pair reignited their feud as James 'took to Twitter' to brand Matt desperate for press.
He tweeted: “2 million returned and now live in the bargain bin at asda give it up the tunes are brutal.. the desperation for press is embarrassing.”
James added: “Get bummed.. Some more.”
Hitting back again last week, Matt tweeted (indirectly, of course): “It’s very very cosy in the bubble…. It really is.”
But James was quick to type a few words online himself.
He tweeted: “Jealousy is a weak emotion.. Learnt that in the real world where I lived for quite some time..”
Up to speed?
Now Matt wants to 'stop the madness'.
He said: "I was just making a point. I'm sure he'll go on to do really well but before that, don't mouth off other people's albums."
Speaking to the Daily Star, Matt added: "James is a worthy winner. I hope he does well.
"He's got a good style and an amazing voice. You've just got do your own thing."
So there you go, everyone is friends again!
