X Factor's Jahmene Douglas has got straight to working since finishing the show, filming an advert for Asda.
The 21-year-old has performed the soundtrack - a cover of Silent Night - for the shop's new Christmas campaign.
Jahmene, who used to work at the store's Swindon branch, said it was a “way of saying thank-you” to the staff who had supported and voted for him.
The X Factor runner up said: “It was an amazing feeling to record my first song in the studio that wasn’t for the show.
“I feel blessed to have had this opportunity.”
It was revealed yesterday that Jahmene was already in meetings to sign a record deal for his first album after the show's end last Sunday.
Jahmene tweeted his thousands of fans yesterday that he was in meetings with RCA Records, who signed last year’s runner up Marcus Collins.
Jahmene tweeted: “Having a meeting with the boss of RCA records today 🙂 woo !! #goodtimes”
It sounds as though Jahmene has big plans, with insiders claiming he hopes to crack the US.
One source said: “Jahmene is excited at the prospect of the US, but he’s aware it’s such a huge jump and it’s completely different audience to impress. He knows he has to toughen up.”
