X Factor: Cheryl Cole gets £2 million from Simon Cowell to return

Cheryl Cole

Simon Cowell has reportedly offered Cheryl Cole £2 million to return to The X Factor, despite her publically saying she'll never return.

The Girls Aloud singer told Graham Norton last month that she definitely wouldn't be back.

She declared: "It's a definite no."

However it seems as though Simon is confident he can coax her back onto the panel with some big money offers.

Bosses are apparently in talks for a number of stars about the 2013 series, although no official offers will be made until the Spring.

It's widely expected that Gary Barlow won't be back, while Tulisa is also "bored" of the series, according to her dad.

Now magazine report that as well as Mel B and Sharon Osbourne, Cheryl is wanted what will be the tenth and currently last series on ITV1.

A source said: "Simon told her she could have £2 million to return."

Another insider claimed: "Simon would love her to return. It makes sense as she was a huge success on the show.

"Cheryl is a big star - he needs a name like her - What better way to stop the ratings falling."

Meanwhile, the sources also suggested that next year's show could air at a different time of year in order to allow Simon to return.

With no Olympics, Jubilee celebrations or Euro football games, there's certainly plenty of room in the schedules compared to 2012.

An insider speculated: "He even talked about brig the show forward so it doesn't clash with the Us X Factor because hes considering a comeback himself"
