X Factor's Christopher Maloney has begged the haters to back off, pleading with fans of the show to stop the "online abuse".
Chris finished third at the weekend and despite the series now been over, has been the centre of week of controversy.
Reports in the past few days have suggested Chris clashed with the other finalists backstage during the weekend’s final, branding Carolynne Poole a “c**t” during rehearsals.
Chris subsequently went missing for Sunday’s final after finishing the show in third place the day before.
Writing to what fans he does have on Twitter, Chris said: “Ello guys, thank u all so much for ur love and support over the months. I’m still unwell right now, your all truly amazing. love u all xx”
Today he added: "plz stop online abuse, all I done was follow my dream, coming 3rd was an achievement.feel gutted I didn't win an im unwell right now, plz xx "
Chris snubbed last night's X Factor wrap party in London due to his illness, but insisted he was invited.
He tweeted: "thank u @TheXFactor for my ticket to the wrap party tonight in London. I'm still unwell, but see u all soon. thanks for making my dreams xx"
In more bad news for Chris however, his place on The X Factor live tour is in doubt.
A source told The Sun this morning: "The other contestants have made no bones about the fact Kye was one of their best friends on the show and they would love him to tour.
"Nobody got on with Chris and after his outburst against Carolynne on Sunday, everyone is furious with him. They can't bear the thought of having to tour with Chris while Kye misses out."
