The X Factor 2012 finished on a relative high last night, with more than 12 million viewers watching James Arthur win the show.
The two hour final between 7:40PM and 10:40PM was watched by an average audience of 10.9 million, peaking with over 12.5 million viewers as the result was announced.
But despite increasing by more than a million viewers on Saturday's show, the figures still make it the least watched final since 2006.
It was a series high for the show this year but down over 2 million viewers on last year's final, itself the lowest final since 2007.
In a plus for the X Factor however it managed to beat Strictly Come Dancing, which had just under 10 million viewers for its latest result show.
9.95 million viewers watched Nicky Byrne leave on the BBC One show, which also featured a performance from Michael Buble.
It was the first time that The X Factor has been ahead of Strictly this year, but the BBC series still has two weeks to go before its own final.
