X Factor 2012 winner James Arthur is set to dash into the recording studio straight away.
Last night's show saw James win the X Factor 2012, beating Jahmene Douglas in a very closely fought final.
Now James is due to work with singer songwriter Ed Sheeran, who penned One Direction's latest number one hit.
Ed congratulated James last night, saying: "Well done. Let’s get into the studio together as soon as the show’s done.”
The Sun reports that Ed and James have already been speaking about working together, even before last night's final.
A pal told the newspaper: "Ed sees some of himself in James. He likes his style and is convinced a collaboration would be a big hit.”
Meanwhile James confessed he was overwhelmed by support from the likes of Ed and Emeli Sande.
He said: “It’s mad that all these incredibly talented people think I’m worthy of working with.
“This time last year I was going nowhere — and now my phone is buzzing with texts from artists I admire.”
The 24-year-old claimed his debut record would be exactly what he wanted to release.
James, who is now signed to Simon Cowell's Syco record label, revealed: “I’ve been given creative control throughout and I’ve been lucky enough to have Nicole as an ally who has helped me out when I have strongly disagreed with stuff.
"I have a feeling I will be able to call the shots. They don’t mess with me, I’m a badass, me.”
