James Arthur won The X Factor 2012 with 57 percent of the vote, it' been revealed.
The full X Factor 2012 voting stats reported this week show that James only started winning the polls after being in the bottom two.
Before that, the singer was very much middle of the pack, ultimately falling into the bottom two in Week 7.
Christopher Maloney originally won the wild card vote by a commanding 63.5% of the four potential wild card acts, before he enjoyed complete domination of the voting results, with Jahmene Douglas in second place in every week from the first until the seventh.
Only after James' appearance in the bottom two did things change, with the eventual winner ousting Chris from the top spot the next week with over 40% of the vote.
Chris' comedown was quick and nasty, with the singer very close to being eliminated in the semi-final, beating Union J by less than 1%.
Talking of eliminations, every act who got the axe this year was bottom of the votes.
While most exits went down to deadlock, even in the handful where the judges' decided the 'right' act ultimately left.
There were some very close calls when it came down to the exits however, with just 0.1% of the vote separating District3 and Melanie Masson in Week 2 as well Union J and Jade Ellis in Week 4.
