The X Factor 2012's ratings woes continued this morning, as overnight data shows that last night's final is the least watched ever.
The two hour performance show between 8PM and 10PM, which saw Christopher Maloney leave in third spot, was watched by an average audience of 9.3 million viewers.
Back at its peak in 2010, an average audience of over 14 million watched the first half of the final, which had a similar two-day format to this year's.
The first half of last year's final averaged 10.6 million, indicating drop of over 1 million viewers year-on-year.
The first ever final performance show back in 2004 was watched by average audience of 9.7 million, making last night's X Factor final the least watched ever.
Last night's latest live show peaked with over 10 million viewers, although this peak came halfway through the show, not when the final two result was announced at the end of the programme.
The X Factor 2012 continues tonight with the live final results in Manchester from 7:40PM on ITV1.
Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will be battling it out to be crowned winner, while there will be performances from One Direction, Rhianna and Emeli Sande.
