The first X Factor 2012 voting percentages and stats have been revealed, showing Christopher Maloney topped the votes most week.

Tonight's show saw James Arthur win the X Factor 2012, beating Jahmene Douglas in a very closely fought final.

Speaking on the Xtra Factor, Caroline Flack and Olly Murs revealed the stats.

In week 1, Chris topped the vote with 28%, with Jahmene in second place.

In week 2, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 3, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 4, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 5, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 6, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 7, Chris topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 8, James topped the vote with 40%, with Chris in second place.

In week 9, James topped the vote and Jahmene was in second place.

In week 10, James won with 54% of the vote to Jahmene's 46%.

The stats confirm voting leaks from earlier on in the series, which had claimed Christoper was topping the vote.

It seems that being in the bottom two may have propelled James to victory, with fans deciding to pick up their phones the next week to keep him in the competition, and ultimately help him to win.

The X Factor UK returns next year, with open auditions for the 2013 series starting in the Spring.
