XFactor 2012 final: James Arthur: I'll make a credible winner

James Arthur (X Factor 2012)

X Factor 2012 finalist James Arthur has said he thinks he'll make a credible winner.

With Christopher Maloney finishing in third place on last night's XFactor 2012 results, it's left James and Jahmene Douglas to go head to head on tonight's final.

There's been a rather poor history of male winners from the show, with none of them still signed to Simon Cowell's record label.

However James reckons he can change the outlook by putting together his own album if he wins the show this evening.

“I will insist on having total control," he said. “The thing is, I thought there wouldn’t be much creative control during the X Factor process and there has been a massive amount.

“I’ve had a lot of it throughout but I’ve been lucky enough to have Nicole as an ally who has helped me out when I have strongly disagreed with stuff.

“I have got a feeling that I will be able to call the shots. They don’t mess with me, I’m a badass, me.”

James' mentor Nicole Scherzinger is happy that it'll be one of her boys who'll be walking away with a record contract this weekend rather than Christopher.

She said: “I think it will bring a lot of credibility and authenticity and integrity if either James or Jahmene win the show.

“I am completely in awe of both of them.

“They are incredibly gifted and talented.”
