X Factor 2012 finalist James Arthur has said he's confident he won't become another flop if he wins the show.
To date, no male winner from The X Factor has had long lasting success, with many failing after just one album.
“I find the statistics ridiculous," James admitted. “But the blokes that have won before haven’t sold records because they haven’t made great albums.
“That’s the bottom line. If me or Jahmene win, the albums will be good and they will sell.
“There’s creative control this year, and we haven’t had to compromise our styles.”
Meanwhile James has been finding it difficult to adjust to the celebrity lifestyle after being mobbed by fans in Manchester.
More than 12,000 will be at tonight's latest live show, and many have already arrived to try and see the finalists in between rehearsals and even at their hotel.
“It’s gone mental in Manchester. Word got out about where the lads were staying and we’ve had fans camped outside ever since," a source told the Daily Star newspaper today. “We have to make sure they are safe, so extra security has been put on the hotel and the lads have been told to stay indoors.
“If they do want to go out they have to have a security guard with them. We just won’t take any chances.”
An X Factor spokesman commented: “The contestants’ welfare is always our highest priority.”
The X Factor 2012 continues tonight with the live final in Manchester from 8PM on ITV1.
Chris Maloney, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will be battling it out to be crowned winner, while there will be performances from One Direction, Kelly Clarkson, Rita Ora, Kylie Minogue, Rhianna and Emeli Sande.
