X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow doesn't regret not putting Chris Maloney through originally

Gary Barlow has insisted he doesn't regret not putting Christopher Maloney through to the live shows originally.

Chris only made it to the finals as part of a wildcard twist, a decision we reckon producers are however regretting each day.

Since being voted back into the competition by the public, Chris has see his odds plummet.

The Liverpudlian singer was originally the 100/1 outsider to win the show, but now is in the final and many reckon he could win.

Speaking at yesterday's X Factor final press conference, Gary said: “No [I don't feel guilty], because he was a wildcard and at that point of the competition you want four contestants in your category and that’s what we got.”

Gary continued: “I think for Christopher, unlike everybody else, because they don’t know the order of the votes each week everyone could think they are near the bottom, but Christopher knows the public is behind him because they already voted him through on the wildcard and then voted him through on the Sunday so he’s got a lot of support out there.”

This year for the second series in a row, all of the finalists will be singing with their mentors.

The pair are reportedly set to sing the group’s Rule The World on Saturday night as Chris goes head to head with Nicole’s girls to win the show.
