X Factor 2012 winners songs to be kept secret (at least, that's the plan)

The X Factor 2012 winners singles are going to be kept secret until the finalists perform live this weekend, it's been revealed.

At least in theory, bosses want to keep the songs selection a surprise ahead of the weekend's live shows.

It was previously confirmed that this year each of the finalists would be singing their own track, with Union J having recorded Demi Lovato's Skyscraper.

Only the final two will get to sing their tracks on Sunday night, with the third placed act getting the boot during Saturday night's show.

It was confirmed last week that this year’s X Factor winner’s single will be in aid of children’s charity Together for Short lives.

The song will be available to download once The X Factor winner is crowned on the 9TH December.

Syco will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each CD single and download to Together for Short Lives (Registered Charity No: 1144022). This is expected to be at least £1 for each CD and 20p for each download.

Simon Cowell, who has worked closely with Together For Short Lives for many years, said: “Together for Short Lives is such an inspiring and important charity for so many kids and their families who really need help and support.

“These hospices are really happy and positive places and are a complete lifeline for so many families. Having worked with this charity for many years I have been able to see first hand how they have impacted so many lives, and I’m delighted that The X Factor’s winner single sales will go directly to helping them.”
