X Factor 2012 finalist James Arthur spent four hours rehearsing for his duet with Nicole Scherzinger yesterday.
This year for the second series in a row, the finalists will be duetting with their mentors in the final.
It's a bit of a letdown, but James doesn't seem to mind.
He gushed: "It's been amazing to sing with Nicole, she is phenomenal. she literally puts a shift in every day, and she's got her own music career as well, shes really hands on."
It's certainly been a busy week for Nicole, who's been working on her own album as well as dashing between Jahmene Douglas and James' homecoming gigs.
A show insider said: “There have been judges with two acts in the final before, but no one has put in the energy and hours Nicole has done this week.
"She had to drive through the night and will be exhausted.
“She is going all out to represent both James and Jahmene and is hoping it will be enough to stop Chris Maloney from winning.”
Meanwhile, James revealed if he had his way the finalists would only be allowed to sing their own songs.
He said this week ahead of the final: "I never really saw myself doing covers in a singing competition on national TV. I'm a signer songwriter first and foremost so I do my own music. It took me a lot to put myself forward for the show.
"If I was making the show I would have me singing my own music every week."
And James confessed that he got quite a shock at his homecoming when thousands turned up to support him.
"I guess for anyone who goes from a normal life to being in the public eye it's never going to be a normal situation," he said. "All of it has been weird. I was expecting 10 people and a dog and there was so many there and I loved it."
The X Factor 2012 continues this weekend with the live final in Manchester.
Chris Maloney, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will be battling it out to be crowned winner, while there will be performances from One Direction, Kelly Clarkson, Rita Ora, Kylie Minogue, Rhianna and Emeli Sande.
