Jahmene Douglas looks set to win The X Factor if his homecoming gig is anything to go by.

A crowd of more than 28,000 descended on Swindon Town centre this evening as Jahmene played a free gig for fans and locals, performing tracks from the show such as At Last.

Fresh from spending time with James Arthur in Middlesbrough, Nicole was with Jahmene as he spent time at his home, former workplace and finally his gig.

Jahmene's mum Mandy was there to support the young singer at the gig, and gushed about how proud she is of the singer.

“I’m extremely, extremely proud,” she said. “I knew it was going to happen, but not this fast. It’s happening really quickly, but I knew one day he would be a star.

“He’s very excited, I think bubbly sums him up at the minute. He’s just ready to go, ready to sing.

“We don’t know what is going to happen, but I know he’ll do his best, so that’s the main thing, as long as everybody enjoys what he does, that’s the main thing.”
