XFactor 2012: Christopher Maloney plays homecoming gig to army of nans

Christopher Maloney (X Factor 2012)

X Factor 2012 hopeful Christopher Maloney performed at his homecoming gig last night, with an average audience age of 82!

Most of the audience at Chris' homecoming celebrations were OAPs, who were out in support of the Liverpudlian singer.

More than 1,500 paced into the Liverpool Empire for the sell out gig as Chris performed some of his classic covers from the live shows.

An insider The Sun newspaper this morning: “He’s a favourite of the older generation, but we were amazed by how many pensioners wanted to support him at his gig.

“It seems a lot of them are also spending their pension voting for him — and he could win the show off the back of them.”

It's certainly clear where Chris' votes are coming from!

And it seems that Chris is getting plenty of them, with leaked X Factor voting revealing that the Liverpudlian has support from all over the country.

"It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen," a source said. “When Irish singer Mary Byrne was on the show, the Irish vote was keeping her in. But with Christopher everyone is voting for him.

“It’s not the end of the world if he wins because it will be what the public wants and we’re sure James will get a deal and keep the show’s credibility intact.”
