X Factor's Union J have claimed they're glad to be out of the competition.
Sunday night saw Union J leave the show in the latest X Factor 2012 results, leaving the competition in fourth place.
There was no sing off or bottom two, with Union J leaving having received the fewest votes resulting in James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas progressing through to the final.
In an interview with The Sun, the boys admitted they felt it was probably better they didn't win.
Lead singer Jaymi said: “Nine times out of ten it is actually better not to win. It is exciting times for Union J. We get the option to really work on our artistry.
“We get the time but not the pressure of being the winners to really sit down and work out what style of music we want to do and make us a brand.
“We have got a lot of positives out of this and they outweigh the negatives.”
Josh added: “We hope this is just the start of Union J’s career and hopefully we can go on and do what One Direction and JLS have done.”
Meanwhile the group's George Shelley claimed that they were in the bottom two so often because their fans didn't get enough pocket money!
He told the newspaper today: “When we meet all of our fans they say, ‘We spend all of our pocket money on voting for you but we only get £5 a week’.”
The X Factor 2012 continues next weekend with the live final in Manchester.
Chris Maloney, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will be battling it out to be crowned winner, while there will be performances from One Direction, Kylie Minogue, Rhianna and Emeli Sande.
