X Factor 2012 judge Tulisa has defended the show's declining ratings, claiming that viewers are too busy boozing.
With the show having lost over 2 million viewers on last year's series it seems something must be turning them to drink.
And we don't think Christopher Maloney's singing is that bad
Tulisa suggested: "The X Factor viewers might be clubbing on a Saturday night."
"If I was to go raving to every city in England, everyone I meet would be like, 'Yeah, I watch The X Factor tomorrow morning with a hangover'."
The figures make for pretty damming reading.
Saturday night’s semi-final performance was seen by 7.75 million viewrs, down 2.5 million on last year and down over 5 million on 2010.
Tulisa admitted that the show was missing Simon Cowell, but doubted he would be back.
"If we could split Simon into many people, we'd have him on every single X Factor," she told the Metro newspaper this week. "There's only one of him. He has commitments. He's gotta do what he's gotta do."
She continued: "I see Simon as the man that sparked a big change in my life and I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for him and his belief in me and my decisions."
The X Factor 2012 continues next weekend with the live final in Manchester.
Chris Maloney, Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur will be battling it out to be crowned winner, while there will be performances from One Direction, Kylie Minogue, Rhianna and Emeli Sande.
