X Factor's James Arthur has said he wants to perform one of his own songs in the final.
There was no sing off or bottom two, with Union J leaving having received the fewest votes resulting in James, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas progressing through to the final.
Speaking about next week's live show, James said: "I think song choice is important, a lot more people watch the final and you've got to impress people
"I would love to sing one of my own."
However James previously admitted that bosses had told him he wouldn't be able to perform his own material in Manchester at the weekend.
He revealed: “I’ve been told there’s no place for me to sing my own songs in the final or semi-final.
“I’ll stick to the premise of the show and do what’s asked of me. I’ll have to do my best with the themes and what I’m given.”
Meanwhile, despite having been in the bottom two - the only of the three finalists to have ever been in the danger zone - James reckons he can still win.
He said: "I think I have got as good a chance as any.
"There's three different types of singers left and three different genres of music left."
