It's the X Factor 2012 semi-final tonight and the four remaining acts are preparing to go on stage for the ninth time.

Christopher Maloney, Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur and Union J will all be performing two songs each again, as they try to win public support to get them into the final.

“This weekend’s theme is a song for you and a song for the judges,” Chris explained. “And the song that I’ve picked is going to be dedicated to my family, friends and everyone that’s supporting me and picked up the phone along the journey.

“It took me a long time to pick the song to so I hope everyone will enjoy it.”

Meanwhile Jahmene teased: “I think this week I am going to be most focused and connected than I’ve ever been.

“I’ve picked them [the songs] myself and I’m excited. I think Nicole realised that I really love these songs.

With no sing off in the X Factor semi-final, it's down to the public votes alone to decide who will stay or go. The act with the fewest votes will get the axe in tomorrow night's results show.

Despite having never been in the bottom two, Chris admitted he was also nervous.

He said: “good morning, it’s semi final weekend! I’m so scared. what will be will be. I’ve done my best. either way I’ll be leaving London Monday! xx”

Meanwhile Union J, having been in the bottom two three times before, have already started getting their online fanbase into a voting frenzy.

They tweeted tonight: "Ahhh the act who gets the least votes goes tomorrow!! No bottom 2 or judges choice ! Sooo nervous! JJ xxxx #UnionJToTheFinal "
