X Factor 2012 hopeful Christopher Maloney has confessed he fears being booed if he makes the final.
This year the X Factor final will be held in Manchester, and Chris hopes that (more) local support will be good for him.
The Liverpudlian singer has had a tough few weeks on the show, getting boeod by the audience after avoiding elimination.
He confessed recently that the booing made him feel “awful” on the live shows.
He told Xtra Factor hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs at the weekend: “It’s a competition and I’m working really hard, I hope the public keep voting for me, the support has been fantastic.
“It’s awful to be booed, it’s not for me but for my family who are in the audience, it’s not very nice for them.”
If Chris makes it through this weekend's semi-fnal, he hopes that the crowd in Manchester will be kind to him.
He said: "If I get to the Final, it will be great. I think the audience will be lovely and really supportive in Manchester. I may get booed here but I don't think that will happen up north."
Caroline Flack also recently defended Chris from the boos, saying: "There are a lot of boos and I feel really sorry for him when I hear those boos, I think anyone getting those boos…it’s horrible.”
Speaking on This Morning earlier in the week, she went on: “He’s there on his own, he is in the competition like everyone else and people are voting for him.
“He’s not doing anything different to anyone else, he’s not asking for extra votes, he’s not getting any extra air time.”
Meanwhile, Chris continued to thank his supporters - and his nan - for voting!
He told the official ITV1 X Factor website: "Nan is great, she’s not paying any attention to any of the nonsense out there.
"I’d like to thank her and all my wonderful fans for believing in me and picking up that phone week after week."
The X Factor 2012 continues this weekend on ITV1 and ITV1HD with the final four acts singing songs that they hope will get them into the final.
On Sunday's results show, one more act get the axe and there will be performances from Pink and Tulisa.
