X Factor boss Simon Cowell is apparently desperate to get back to the UK and take control of the show.
His best pal (so she says) Sinitta claims that Simon doesn't want Christopher Maloney winning the show, although we reckon he's already made that clear himself.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Sinitta said: "Simon says X Factor is his first baby. He worries about the show and there is a lot for him to worry about at the moment.
“The wrong people are going. He finds it frustrating. He doesn’t want the whole thing to fall apart."
Sinitta suggests that Simon could be back next series, although admitted it could be tough with his commitments with the US version of the show, which is also struggling with ratings.
“He is still the boss and he still sees the cuts and is up until all hours of the morning listening to what is going on," Sinitta revealed. “He doesn’t agree with some of the song choices or the music production choices but he has tried to give them a chance.”
But if Simon does return, it could mean the end of Gary Barlow.
Says Sinitta: "Simon cancels Gary out, so sorry Gary. They both wrinkle their nose at certain things but Simon’s
instincts are sharper, Simon’s the one who can spot the X Factor.”
A spokesperson for Simon commented: “He has not ruled out returning to the show as a possibility in the future.”
The X Factor 2012 continues tomorrow night on ITV1 and ITV1HD with Sunday's results show, one more act get the axe, and there will be performances from Rhianna and Bruno Mars.
