X Factor hopeful Rylan Clark has claimed that Gary Barlow's recent comments have gone too far.
While Gary and Rylan’s banter is usually quite playful, Gary seemed pretty angry with the Essex performer this week.
It follows the shock elimination of Ella Henderson at the weekend, who was in the bottom two with fellow favourite James Arthur.
Gary said: “I’m serious. What are we going to do about Rylan?
Speaking at a gig in aid for Mencap on Tuesday, Gary continued: “I might have to be honest on Saturday night and go: ‘Rylan, I thought that was absolute s****’.”
However an annoyed Rylan said today: "We’ve got this banter in the studio and in the studio that’s where it stays.
“So when I found out what he did at the gig it upset me because I thought, ‘You’ve taken this out of the show now’. ”
And the 24-year-old from Essex claimed Gary had contributed to the abuse he'd been receiving online.
"I’m not saying the word ‘bully’, not in the slightest bit. I just look at it and think it’s not nice to get a crowd to do something like that... ever," he explained. “It’s a bit hateful. I’m all up for the panto but these people in the crowd are hardcore Gary fans.
"If he turns round and says something, that’s in their head and they’re the ones who come on Twitter to give me abuse. I get a lot of ‘I Love Gary Barlow’ people tweeting me and that’s expected, but I don’t think that helped this week.”
Speaking to The Sun, Rylan threatened: “Without going into too much detail, if he does it again and carries on I’ll just have to tell everyone how it really is. I’ll lay it on the line.
“I mean I was just in the studio and he saw me and waved and smiled. He loves me. He can’t keep his eyes off me."
The X Factor 2012 continues tonight on ITV1 and ITV1HD, with the final five acts sing two tracks each with Abba and Motown themes.
Sunday's results show will see one more act get the axe, and there will be performances from Rhianna and Bruno Mars.
