Ella Henderson has suggested that she was eliminated from The X Factor because people had assumes she would make the final.
Ella Henderson became the latest singer to leave the competition in Sunday evening's shocking XFactor 2012 results after she fell into the bottom two with James Arthur.
The judges couldn't split the pair and sent the decision to deadlock, with Ella leaving having received the fewest public votes.
Speaking after her exit this week, Ella said: "I do feel massively gutted, I would've loved to have made it through to the finals... everyone in that situation would."
However Ella claimed she was expecting to be in the bottom two because people thought she was safe.
She continued: "You never know how it's going to spin round, that bottom two and I was kind of expecting it.
"I think everybody kind of assumed that I was going to make it to the final, but in my head I'm so proud of myself for getting this far, and so much good is going to come off the back of this show for me and I just want to spur on and go back into my song writing."
The 16-year-old performed Daniel Bedingfield's If You're Not The One in the sing off, but confessed she would have preferred to be able to sing her own track.
She said: "I think for the sing off, if I look back at it, I would've loved to have just done my original song, Missed, if I'm going to be completely honest.
"But I don't think it was down to the song choice - I knew it was going to go down to deadlock in my head, I thought there was no way they could pick between us both. And then as soon as it did go to deadlock..."
Ella also admitted she was feeling slightly relived to be out of the "X Factor bubble".
She explained: "I woke up this morning with part of me gutted, and it's going to be weird coming out of this intense X Factor bubble... but most of me is feeling relieved and really excited about 2013.
"It's going to kick off with the X Factor tour and then away from that I just hope that I can go into writing an album and releasing it."
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday on ITV1 and ITV1HD, with the final five acts sing two tracks each with Abba and Motown themes.
Sunday's results show will see one more act get the axe, and there will be performances from Rhianna, Tulisa and Bruno Mars.
