X Factor wannabe Christopher Maloney has been targeted with death threats following Ella Henderson's exit from the show at the weekend.
Ella became the latest singer to leave the competition in Sunday evening's shocking XFactor 2012 results after she fell into the bottom two with James Arthur.
The judges couldn't split the pair and sent the decision to deadlock, with Ella leaving having received the fewest public votes.
The audience booed when Christopher was saved, but Ella herself wouldn't comment on whether she was happy Chris had survived over her.
She said only: "Everyone is there for a reason."
The Daily Mirror reports that the police may be made aware of some comments sent to Chris via websites like Twitter.
A spokesperson told the newspaper: "The welfare of our contestants is our key priority and we work with them to provide what support is needed.”
Meanwhile Chris himself has hit back at his haters.
He says in an interview with heat magazine out this week: "I'm keeping my feet on the ground and not doing anything wrong. Because I'm not doing anything wrong, maybe that's why they're printing lies about me.
"I'm the same person off-camera as I am on... All the negativity and crap I've been getting - people trying to bring me down and maybe force me to quit - it's not going to happen.
"No way. I've worked too hard just for somebody to take it away from me."
The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday on ITV1 and ITV1HD, with the final five acts sing two tracks each with Abba and Motown themes.
