X Factor 2012 judge Gary Barlow has defended Christopher Maloney from negative criticism from the other judges.
Louis Walsh said today that they needed to make sure that the Liverpudlian singer wouldn't win the show.
"Maloney is bland and boring. For some unfathomable reason, the public still like him. He really suits his new nickname; shake and fake," he told the official ITV1 website today.
Discussing his performance on the show on Saturday night, Louis added: "I actually liked that weird collage that was behind him during his performance.
"The lights for eyes were pretty intense, though. It was creepy, cool and made me laugh. Chris can really sing though, I’ll give him that."
However Gary hit back this evening: "Chris' doing great. Sunday nights are supposed to be full of dread but he springs in and out of my dressing room. I’m so happy to see that he’s enjoying himself."
The Take That star continued: "He’s had the most criticism out of everybody. I only know what I see. For me, he’s really easy to work with. Whenever I’m around him, he’s the loveliest, sweetest man ever.
"I think he’s managed it brilliantly. If these things were being said about me, I’d be cursing and lashing out. I really admire how he’s taken the negative things being said about him in his stride. I really respect that."
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 continues Saturday, 24th November at 18:30 with the latest Strictly results show on Sunday 25th November at 1925 on BBC One and BBC One HD.
