XFactor 2012: Louis Walsh blasts "bland and boring" Christopher Maloney

Louis Walsh has blasted X Factor hopeful Christopher Maloney once again, branding him "bland and boring".

Ella Henderson became the latest singer to leave the competition in this evening's shocking XFactor 2012 results after she fell into the bottom two with James Arthur.

The judges couldn't split the pair and sent the decision to deadlock, with Ella leaving having received the fewest public votes.

The audience booed when Christopher was announced as safe, and Louis was equally annoyed.

"Maloney is bland and boring. For some unfathomable reason, the public still like him. He really suits his new nickname; shake and fake," he told the official ITV1 website today.

Discussing his performance on the show on Saturday night, Louis added: "I actually liked that weird collage that was behind him during his performance.

"The lights for eyes were pretty intense, though. It was creepy, cool and made me laugh. Chris can really sing though, I’ll give him that."

Meanwhile Louis revealed how his last remaining act Union J were overwhelmed after avoiding the sing off.

He said: "My boys are nervous. Being in the bottom two the other week knocked their confidence for six. They’ve worked really hard throughout the competition. "

Louis added: "I’d love to see Union J do really well beyond the show – they deserve to be successful."

The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday on ITV1 and ITV1HD, with the final five acts sing two tracks each with Abba and Motown themes.

Sunday's results show will see one more act get the axe, and there will be performances from Rhianna, Tulisa and Bruno Mars.
