Ella Henderson has been eliminated from The X Factor 2012 tonight in a very shocking result.
Last night saw the remaining six X Factor finalists perform live for the seventh time, singing their guilty pleasures.
This evening, Dermot O'Leary revealed that James Arthur and Ella Henderson had received the fewest public votes and would have to sing again.
It was the first time for both in the bottom two and a truly shocking result all around. The audience booed as Dermot revealed the result, while Rylan Clark jumped for joy after getting through.
In the sing off the pair went head to head and the judges - Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh - decided which of the pair stayed and went.
Singing for survival, Ella performed Daniel Bedingfield hit If You're Not the One while James performed Falling by Alicia Keys.
Nicole and Tulisa both saved their acts, leaving it down to Gary and Louis.
Gary said: "People at home, we're voting for the best singers, this is a singing competition. It's about the vocals. I've been right behind James from the word go so I'm sending home Ella."
Louis said: "Dermot, I'm in shock, I thought these were two finalists. We have to send someone home. Ella, you have so much potential, James, you're amazing, I think you're a ready made act.
"So, the act I have to send home is James."
With the judges' votes tied, the decision went to deadlock.
With the fewest public votes, Ella Henderson was eliminated
The X Factor 2012 continues next Saturday and Sunday on ITV1 and ITV1HD.
