X Factor's Christopher Maloney has hit out at the 'media witch hunt' aimed at him.
The past few weeks have seen numerous stories in the tabloids about Chris, ranging from apparent diva antics, rows with fellow contestants and even arguments with the show's executive producers.
Speaking about all the reports, Chris admitted this week: "It's hard, the thing is though, if it were true I'd be hurt but because it's not true and it's lies, it's just water off a ducks back."
He added: “It feels like a bit of a witch hunt now. I think people forget that I’ve got a family and I’ve got loyal supporters out there.”
Chris claimed last week that the judges' negative comments were making his nan ill, and he said this week that the newspaper stories had also been impacting his friends and family.
Speaking on the red carpet of the Twilight premiere this week, he explained: "I'm more worried about my family being more upset than I am because it's hard.
"I'm from the back streets of Liverpool and to be put in the spotlight like this it's hard to deal with the negative press that I'm getting."
