X Factor 2012: Union J defend pal Rylan Clark

Union J (X Factor 2012)

X Factor stars Union J have defended Rylan Clark from abuse, mainly from Gary Barlow!

This weekend saw Rylan once again come under attack from Gary, who told Rylan after his latest performance:

Rylan gave as good as he got, quipping about Gary Barlow's weight when talking about his performing past as part of a Take That Tribute band.

The Essex singer said: "I definitely was Gary, I'm too skinny!"

Union J have Rylan's back in the competition it seems, insisting that the singer deserves his spot on the competition.

The group's Jaymi said: "Rylan actually works damn hard, and he has proved himself to be a singer when he's been in the bottom two. He knows he isn't the strongest singer so he works twice as hard - he knows he can't just stand there and sing like some of the stronger contestants can

josh We're really close to Rylan, so it would be horrible to be in the bottom two with him. It 's hard being up against anyone, as we all get on. But that's when it really turns into a competition."

However he didn't think Rylan was going to be competition for them.

He added: "James Arthur, Ella Henderson and Jahmene Douglas are definitely our biggest competition. "
