X Factor's Chris Maloney was "close to tears" after fighting with the show's producers, it's been claimed.
The Daily Mirror report this morning that Chris found himself on the end of a foul mouthed rant from the show's executive producer Mark Sidaway after turning up late for rehearsals.
The newspaper says that the telly exec “lost the plot” with Chris, branding his behaviour “f*****g unacceptable”.
A source told the newspaper: “This rant from Mark Sidaway was totally unfair.
"Chris walked in a few minutes late and he was swearing and being aggressive.
“Chris was banned from seeing his family before Sunday’s show.
"It hurt him and made him consider if he should carry on. Others are late and nothing is said.”
Chris, who has apparently been topping the public votes so far, has also been 'banned' from spending him from his family.
However another insider insisted that Chris' diva antics have left a lot of the show's team frustrated.
“Chris was an hour late on Sunday and it is not the first time," the source told the tabloid. "Contestants often are unable to see their families due to rehearsal commitments.
"He is not being singled out.”
A spokesman for X Factor commented that Chris and the production team had a discussion after he turned up late for rehearsals for the fourth time.
The X Factor continues with its live shows this weekend with a guilty pleasures theme.
Sunday's results show will feature performances from Alicia Keys and Olly Murs, as well as one more act being given the boot.
