One X Factor fan has bet £1,000 on Christoper Maloney winning the show later this year.
It was reported this week that cruise ship Chris has been topping the vote, according to leaked X Factor voting results.
Now Chris Maloney's odds of winning X Factor have been slashed in half by leading UK bookmakers Ladbrokes.
One Liverpudlian punter who is that convinced Christopher is in X Factor for the long-term has placed a bet of £1000 at odds of 33/1 to win this year's show, leaving the bookies with no choice but to consequently halve his odds to 16/1, making him the clear fourth favourite.
And such is the late gamble on Christopher it has seen him attract 80% of all X Factor bets placed this week, and despite him being the third favourite to face elimination this weekend the firm have only seen 13 bets placed on the man from Merseyside to leave the competition on Sunday night.
Maloney and Union J are chalked up at 9/2 to exit the competition this weekend, however thankfully for them it's District 3 (13/8) and Rylan (2/1) who are favoured for the chop first.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Liverpudlians are notorious for supporting their acts in X Factor and Maloney's mega-fan is simply putting his money where his mouth is. The bet comes as no surprise to us seeing as Maloney is topping the phone votes every week."
She added: "If the money keeps coming in for Maloney the way it has been this week it won't be long before he becomes a serious contender for a Top 3 finish."
The X Factor continues with its live shows this weekend with a Best Of British theme.
Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.
