Christopher Maloney has reportedly topped the viewers’ vote throughout the series of the X Factor despite being one of the favourites for elimination every week.
William Hill expect him to be in the running for a few weeks yet as he is 3/1 to leave this weekend, shorter at 2/1 for the week after and odds on that he goes from week eight or after. He is 4/1 for a top three finish and a place in the final.
District 3 are the favourites for the boot this weekend at 7/4 with William Hill. Rylan Clark is 9/4 to get his marching orders with Union J 5/1.
The three front runners are all outsiders for the chop but sit close at the top of the betting.
Ella Henderson remains the favourite to win at 5/4 with Jahmene Douglas closing in on her at 6/4. James Arthur is 9/2.
“Christopher was voted in by the public and is being kept in by those that voted. He could throw a spanner in the works of the plans of the producers,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.
Meanwhile the bookies make it odds on that the judges will once again fail to decide which act to send home in the sing off, offering 11/10 that the decision will go to deadlock for the fifth time in six weeks.
The X Factor continues with its live shows this weekend with a Best Of British theme.
Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.
